2021 has been an incredible year to work on what matters most: building community through hardship. 

 

I have seen this for myself, over and over, as we have navigated through an ongoing pandemic, which has brought on an array of challenges that we have had to overcome along the way - but we made sure those in need did not have to do it alone. 

 

Being the president of CommunicAID for over five years, I have witnessed a lot of moments that have brought me much joy and sometimes many tears, but I could have never prepared myself to lead through such a time of crisis as the past two years have been. I have been able to see the struggles in our community more than ever before, but I feel peace knowing we have worked tirelessly to ensure everyone, including our staff and volunteers, had a warm place to sleep at night and food in their stomachs everyday. 

 

As we wrap up this year, I would like to extend my gratitude towards the many people who made another year of CommunicAID changing lives possible. 

 

To Our Staff, 

 

Thank you - for all the hours you have put in and more, and for carrying CommunicAID’s mission on your backs. We would not have been able to help our community in such a tremendous way without you. 

 

To Our Volunteers, 

 

Thank you - you stepped up and helped those in need at a time in which we all needed some help. Your work will be forever valued and remembered, and your legacy one that will stay in our hearts forever, no matter how long you helped us for. 

 

To Our Donors, 

 

Thank you - your generosity has helped save the lives of many through the years, but this year it was particularly special. You chose to give to others in need at a time in which everyone needed something, and that will never be forgotten. Just know that your kindness has brought joy to the hearts of many, and I hope we can continue to receive your loyalty for the years to come. 
 

To Our Baltimore Community, 

 

Your kind, vibrant and resilient spirit continues to shine through. Despite the hardships and obstacles along the way, you have beaten the odds and found in CommunicAID a place to call home. We will always welcome you with open arms, no matter how scary the world seems. 

 

I hope this message of gratitude extends into the warmth of the holiday season as the community gets together to celebrate. After such a challenging year, this is the time to reflect and remember those we unfortunately lost, as well as give thanks for all that we have accomplished. I hope CommunicAID can continue to serve you all as we move forward, and for the many years ahead.
